Dr. Maurizio Bonacini received his MD degree from the University of Louvain in 1982. He obtained his Gastroenterology Board certification in 1989 and his Transplant Hepatology Board certification in 2006. He became a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association in 2012.

 

His research interests have included the liver complications of HIV infection and viral Hepatitis B and C. He has lectured extensively on Hepatitis B and C and has published on the topic of metabolic steatotic liver disease, formerly known as NAFLD.
